-Open in loving memory of Justin Gordon Fraser-

On Saturday, March 3 we lost Justin, our adored boss, friend, father and husband.

Having retired from the very demanding hotel business to spend more time with his family, he spent recent years running House Cafe and becoming part of the beautiful community that has formed on St Benedict’s Street and in the Norwich Lanes.

He loved our street, working with his children and sharing laughter and discussion with our ever-lovely customers.

Perhaps you knew him well, perhaps he helped you with a crossword clue once or made you a flat white, if you’ve ever eaten in our cafe, chances are he made your breakfast.

He was the heart of our lives and will be remembered for his unfailing generosity, his warm and affectionate soul and the joy he brought to every day in our little corner of Norwich.

Please bare with us while we try to fill his shoes, there will be some menu changes and no doubt some tearful moments, but we appreciate all your support at this time.

Welcome to House Café.

Located on St Benedicts Street in the beautiful city of Norwich, we’re a family run café specialising in comfort food. Our food is made to order with fresh ingredients, and all of our cakes and unsliced bread are baked in-house. Our specials and cakes change regularly and we always have gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. We also serve our own blend of organic Fair Trade coffee, along with a wide selection of teas and cold drinks. Our shelves are filled with books and games that our customers are always welcome to use, and we display work from local artists which is available to enjoy and purchase.

House Café is a cosy space where you can slow down for a while, enjoy some food and a cup of tea or two, catch up with your loved ones or indulge in a little ‘me-time’.

We hope to see you soon.
